2000年政黨輪替綠色執政，於2001年首次在高雄舉辦燈會
　　　由當時高雄市政府副秘書長-姚文智擔任燈會籌備總召集人
　　　　　　　炫爛耀眼的燈會顯現出蛻變後的高雄，追逐著夢想的腳步
　　　　　　　　　　　展現出城市力量的價值，開啟『海洋首都--高雄』新的局面~~
